Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Destroys Sales RecordsPosted 2:55pm Thu Dec 18, 2008 by Zach Lott Tags: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Capcom, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade

Over at Capcom's website, John Diamonon has revealed in a blog post that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix may very well become the highest-grossing digital game ever made, having already sold over 250,000 units since its release in late November.

Diamonon mentioned in his post that the game has "shattered" day one and week one sales records and is on pace to break the 30 day sales mark.

The game has been reviewed very well and has garnered praise for its music and artwork, the latter of which, interestingly enough, almost got the game cancelled at one point for a perceived lack of quality. You can download it either through the Playstation Store or Xbox Live Arcade.

Street Fighter IV: It's 3D! It's 2D! It's Something!Posted 7:35pm Thu Dec 06, 2007 by Aaron Dunlap Tags: Street Fighter IV, street fighter, graphics, EGM, 3D, 2D

1UP got themselves a scoop from partner outlet EGM's upcoming exclusive spread regarding Street Fighter IV. Man, it's hard to believe there's only been 3 Street Fighter games so far...

Anyway, there's been some contention about whether the gameplay and graphics will be 3D or 2D. Street Fighter is famous for sticking to 2D roots, but the market has made some pretty significant graphical and technical advances in the last 10 years. A recent trailer for Street Fighter IV showed 3D character models and fans everywhere gave birth to several pounds of outrage.

1UP confirms that, though the graphics are 3D, the actual gameplay style is 2D. I guess that means that characters wont be taking advantage of axes X and Y, but not Z.

Once the new EGM hits the stands, we'll know more.

EA Apologizes For NFS PornvertisingPosted 3:00pm Tue Nov 27, 2007 by Aaron Dunlap Tags: EA, nudity, Need For Speed ProStreet, scandal, advertising

Recently appearing on Page3.com, a property of UK tabloid The Sun dealing primarily in the visual representation of topless young women, was a series of photos featuring two topless models posing in front of an exotic red sports car. You can see an edited sample to the right.

The whole thing was a promotion for EA's Need For Speed ProStreet.

Nudity and video games have always gotten along so well in the past, but this incident has caused some problems. EA has just released a statement to GamesIndustry.biz saying, "We regret that these images slipped through the proper EA approval process." Adding that the nude topless naked nude hot nude photos were "not appropriate for their brand."

The photos bearing Need for Speed branding have been removed from the website, though there still exists a video of the photoshoot, a very NSFW video full of naked nudity and topless nakedness, that we would never link to.

I'll take EA at their word, and appreciate how they're trying to make the breast of this situation. Best of this tituation. Damn it.
